Fade Friday – Samurai Jeans S710XX (1.5 Years, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

The heavyweight denim of Samurai‘s jeans has produced so many sick fades over the years, and it’s back again for this week’s edition of Fade Friday. This pair of S710xx belong to Rizky Aulia,of Indonesia, who’s been wearing them daily for the past year and a half. Rizky describes Indonesia as “kinda hot“, and while this might be the understatement of the century, he can thank the heat and humidity of his homeland for helping produce these grail fades.

Rizky is a college student, and tells us these are his go-to jeans for daily wear on campus and general hangouts with friends. The lap and knees have faded to white, bringing contrast against the steely blue tone the denim has developed after just one soak and one wash. Whiskers span down the thighs, and wrap around to the seat, where the back pockets have faded just enough to reveal the indigo-colored stealth arcs. And lastly, something no Fade Friday is complete without — stark, crispy honeycombs.

You can catch up with Rizky on Instagram.

If you’re traveling on business but would rather be on the way to your favorite fishing spot, boy does Bleu de Chauffe have the perfect bag for you. The French carry (and clothing) brand has combined the best parts of their classic Fisherman’s Musette with the sensibility of the Zeppo Business Bag to create a shoulder-toted satchel that can adapt to your rugged and professional carry needs.

The body is cut from a heavyweight 18oz. British Millerain lick wax cotton canvas and accented by veg-tanned leather trip. It features two outer flap pockets in the front, one push-button closed pocket in the back, a built-in felt laptop sleeve, an inner zip pocket, and it all comes together with Bleu de Chauffe’s signature brass Guilloché closure that has a fingerprint like texture and an extremely satisfying snap.

Like all Bleu de Chauffe products, it’s made in-house at their idyllic Aveyron workshop (see our trip inside) and each bag is signed by the artisan that produced it. Pick one up and set your out-of-office reply to “Gone Fishin”.

Available for $362 at Bleu de Chauffe in Khaki and Camel.

Proprietors of crazy shirts, Koromo Sakura, are back with another wild one for the collection. The Long Sleeve Work Shirt in Patchwork Jacquard might be more suited to fall and winter temps, but really, you can wear this anytime you want to wear a button-up.

A long-sleeved collared shirt is a comforting and versatile thing and a true pillar of the menswear wardrobe. And despite the gorgeous, boro-inspired 100% cotton indigo-dyed jacquard fabric design, this one actually looks to be extremely versatile and comfortable. A fun-looking security blanket in the form of a quality-made shirt? Yes, please.

Don’t try and work out how this jacquard fabric was woven with such a range of textures and tones, it will make your head hurt. Just throw on some chinos or fatigues, button this thing down, and wait for the compliments to roll in. Or size up and use it as an overshirt in the upcoming colder months. This shirt is practically begging to be shown off at holiday gatherings coming up.

The Long Sleeve Work Shirt comes with tonal stitching, dual chest pockets, tonal catseye buttons, button adjusting cuffs, and a reinforced back yoke

Despite the model shots over at Hinoya, this has a standard (not relaxed) and modern silhouette — be sureto check the measures and size up.

Available for $150 from Hinoya.

I said Diemme! These Diemme Roccia Vet Bison Suede mountaineering boots look good. Seriously though, these all-terrain, all-demands rugged as hell booties are about as cool as it gets for heritage-style hiking boots. That said, they’re almost too beautiful to actually hike in. Go ahead and be a poser, we won’t tell the gorp crew.

Urban and mountain terrains alike were in mind for the construction of these boots. Two different and versatile shades of genuine bison suede cover the upper part of the shoe and this stuff has some nice pull, not to mention that eternally classic suede texture. These stompers are fully lined with tonal Nappa leather, feature a reinforcing suede heel counter, metal loop and lace locking eyelets, and contrasting poly cord laces — all housed on top of some Diemme Desert lug soles.

Each pair is made in Italy and comes with a waterproof lining.

Available now for $470 from Lost & Found.

If California rugged adventure label Iron & Resin had to be summed up in a single product, it would be their Scout Jacket. This rugged piece of outerwear has been in the I&R collection since 2014 and it represents everything we’ve come to love about their work.

The Scout is a waxed canvas jacket that takes the blueprint of the Type III trucker and adds a little extra kick at every level to make for a more capable and resilient piece. The original denim has been swapped for a 12oz. British Millerain waxed canvas that’s water resistant, breathable, and ages to show patina like crazy. Pair that with stainless steel shank buttons and an additional Talon zipper, and the Scout is essentially fail-proof. The interior has been beefed up with a 9 oz. Klamath flannel blanket lining and the collar and hand pockets have soft corduroy trim.

This three-season jacket that’s is the companion for the trail to your bike to the bar for a lifetime of wear, as it’s also backed by Iron & Resin’s Repair or Replace Guarantee. So get out there in your Scout, there’s things to see.

Available in Oil Tan, Oak Brown, and Charcoal at for $349 at Iron & Resin.
