A brand built on heavyweight canvas and hard-wearing leather, Bleu de Chauffe has always leaned firmly into the rugged end of the spectrum. The brand’s new “Liscio” leather pivots into business class while retaining BDC’s penchant for sturdy carry that will outlast your career, and then some.
Smoother, more refined, and quietly water-resistant, Liscio leather brings a refreshing urban presence to BDC silhouettes, old and new. For those who want a world-class bag from the French maker that can navigate the C-suite, the new Liscio collection offers that balance. Let’s take a closer look at this sleek new leather and how Bleu de Chauffe is applying it.
Liscio Leather

Liscio is Bleu de Chauffe’s new smooth leather, procured for its business line. An Italian adjective meaning “smooth” or “polished,” Liscio is specially tanned and finished to have a smooth, satin surface that has the added benefit of water-resistance.
But it’s not overly corrected. Beneath its refined exterior, the natural character of the hide—subtle pores, gentle contours, and organic variation that prevent it from feeling sterile like other business-focused leathers. With regular use, Liscio leather will earn a rich patina, developing even more luster due to natural oils and friction from daily handling.
These qualities also mean the Liscio isn’t out of place in more casual settings, too. You only have to take a quick look at Bleu de Chauffe’s SS26 lookbook to see it looking right at home in the outback. For that reason, it makes sense that BDC applied it to their iconic Hobo Travel Bag, as well as 2 business-ready carries: the Zeppo and all-new Ledger.
Ledger Liscio is the newest bag in Bleu de Chauffe’s business range. Featuring the Liscio on the main body, the Ledger is complemented by thick brown vegetable-tanned leather on the handles, trims, and removable shoulder strap. A subtle yet defining detail is the navy zip tape and internal felt, a classy touch of color that actually lets the leather pop even more.
This briefcase-satchel hybrid is perfectly formulated for documents and folders, as well as your laptop and any other tech you need to tote to the office. Laptops up to 16″ can slip into the felt-protected compartment, and other valuables can be stashed in the additional, removable cotton canvas pocket.
On the back, the Ledger hides a genius trick: an external pocket with a discreet zip at the base. Open it, and you can slide the bag over the telescopic handle of most trolley suitcases.
The Ledger business bag is available for $525 from Bleu de Chauffe.
A tried-and-tested business staple for Bleu de Chauffe, the Zeppo looks stealthy as hell in Liscio leather. The Zeppo blends briefcase sensibility with the comfort and soft construction of a messenger bag. It has a large, quick-access front pocket that’s concealed under a flap, secured with BDC’s signature guilloché lock that not only looks good; it also has an ASMR-worthy click when fastened. The main compartment is equipped with felt protection for laptops up to 16″, while the second compartment can be used to store files and a healthy snack for your coffee break. Like the Ledger, the rear pocket is fitted with a zip at the base, which, when opened, allows the bag to slide onto telescopic suitcase handles.
Dual carry handles are backed up by a removable shoulder strap, although this time, these features are made up in a tonal vegetable-tanned leather, with the only contrast on the Zeppo Liscio coming from the navy zipper tape and felt laptop sleeve.
The Zeppo leather business bag is available for $730 from Bleu de Chauffe.
Last but never least, Bleu de Chauffe’s beloved Hobo Travel Bag has gotten the Liscio treatment. With a large 30L capacity, the Hobo is there for business trips or weekends away. Wherever you may roam, the Hobo is equally at home in an overhead compartment or thrown in the boot of a car.
Like the Ledger, this Liscio rendition of the Hobo is contrasted by robust veg-tan leather on the carry handles and removable shoulder strap.
The sanded reverse of the Liscio leather provides a velvety interior for your goods, while dual side pockets and a front pocket provide quick access while on the move. Bleu de Chauffe’s signature removable internal pocket is perfect for passports and travel documents, too.
The Hobo travel bag is available for $800 from Bleu de Chauffe.
