Iron Heart 25 oz. Denim (4 Years, 10 Washes)

Another quality submission from the denim fading epicenter that is Southeast Asia comes from Affendi, over in Malaysia. He’s worn these 25 oz. Iron Heart jeans for 4 years and washed them 10 times along the way. Let’s look back on the damage done, shall we?

Worn during every free second, Affendi has chiseled out a dramatically high-contrast fade profile. While the thighs are nearly bone-white, there is still a good amount of shadowy blue hues along the edges not to mention the dark shins. And yet, rustic creasing is still present all over like the striping of an indigo-dipped tiger. The seat gives us some extra eye-candy via some daily pocket fades which are also so satisfying to see.

Complete with a strong cuff, sometimes we take for granted the final result of these submissions but 20+ ounces is nothing to play with, especially in a humid part of the world. So, better leave this one to the professionals.

With a healthy mix of East meets West, Sugar Cane‘s Fiction Romance Workshirt is unlike any we have ever seen, clearly lending itself to hotter temps when you don’t want to compromise your love for long-sleevers. Or do want protection from the sun.

Made of 6.9 oz. Kasuri fabric, a fabric that harkens back to Japan’s Showa period, the shirt is all about that ancient Japanese style weave – and the resulting texture. Woven on power looms, the shirt gets its distinct hue from unbleached and indigo yarns, which might look like an average chambray at first, but on closer inspection oozes class and charm.

Available for $160 from Hinoya.

There’s a plethora of olive fatigues on the market, so when a quality brand goes out of its way to color outside of the lines a bit, we’ll always take a look. Especially when indigo dye is in the mix. Enter Companion Denim and its new Indigo Fatigue Pants. Made in Spain from 13 oz. French indgo-dyed selvedge herringbone twill, not only do these offer a unique take on the iconic military fatigue pant style — they carry a truckload of fading potential, too.

Did Companion stop at a stellar fabric and killer fit? Of course not. They constructed these with chainstitching to the inseam, back rise, and hems, and killer shell stitching on the fly. Each pair comes with natural herringbone twill cotton waist band lining, waist adjusters, chambray pocket bags, and corozo nut buttons.

Available for $262 from Companion Denim.
