Drypond Eyewear Anton Sunglasses Offer Great Value and 100% UV Protection
In the past, it felt that the only way to get a half-decent pair of sunnies was to spend well over $200 on a designer pair from one of the big names. Thankfully a new wave of optics makers is bridging the gap. Brands like Shwood, Shinzo Tamura, and Raen are just a few names offering quality sunglasses for an honest price, crafting them with quality materials and with longevity in mind. Another such brand is Drypond Eyewear, a young eyewear brand that utilizes a family history of eyewear production to produce handmade glasses with quality materials and high-end finishing.
Drypond was founded in 2022 by Aidan Cheung, the son of an eyewear artisan. After years of producing eyewear for other factories, Cheung’s father opened his eyewear facility in the early 2000s, with the view of specializing in handmade frames. Just 20 years later, that same factory produces all of Drypond’s glasses, using materials like Italian acetate and fine titanium to create sturdy sunglasses with a timeless aesthetic.
Drypond is a representation of family and legacy — an ongoing dialogue between generations. The brand believes in the importance of craftsmanship, artisanal products and voice of culture. When choosing priorities, Drypond is persistent in the mechanical world while adapting to innovation and design. With full focus on what is present and abundantly available, Drypond denies the need to predict future trends
Today, we’ll be reviewing Drypond’s Anton sunglasses in Clear Brown, focusing on aesthetic, build quality, performance, and value for money.
Available for $145 at Drypond

Knickerbocker Mfg. Co. x Manready Mercantile Indigo Dyed Crewneck (Many Washes)
We’ve long said that fades and patinas are their own sort of blue collar science experiment, where whatever little tweak or behavior you make is going to have some reflection on the final product. Reader Daniel from the US has been kind enough to provide a control subject for his experiments on this indigo-dyed crewneck collab from Manready and Knickerbocker.
In his words, “I guess I just kept washing only one of the two that I got and this is how they turned out.” Which is which should be fairly self-explanatory, but thank you Daniel for sharing your findings, we’re happy to publish them here in our peer-reviewed journal.

The ONI Denim ONI-121S Relaxed Tapered 15oz. Ishikawa-dai Stretch Denim is for those who want stretch denim without forgoing the beauty and nuance of Japanese selvedge denim. Seriously, ONI knows that stretch shouldn’t mean compromise, so they pulled out all the stops to make sure its Ishikawa-dai Denim can stand next to the rest of their illustrious fabrics.
Woven on vintage “Ishikawa-dai” machines that run 1/3 of the speed of a modern weaving machine, this 15 oz. 98% cotton 2% polyurethane selvedge denim has a beautiful texture that ONI wanted to gently subtly hand-woven fabrics. Hinoya are saying that this doesn’t have the smooth hand feel of a generic stretch denim, instead having the rough and tactile texture ONI Denim fabrics are known for. Yeah, chances are good you won’t hear a peep from any of the denim elitists with these bad boys.
Available for $215 from Hinoya.

There’s something about natural vegetable-tanned leather footwear that just pops like no other. Hender Scheme made an entire brand out of this concept, but today we’re looking at a more storied maker that stomps its feet in the heritage footwear market — Viberg.
Viberg is continuing its creative partnership with Virgina-based retailer and collaboration powerhouse, Division Road, issuing this limited edition pair of Chelsea Boots in Champagne Washed Vacchetta leather from Conceria over in Italy. This special leather uses a proprietary which involves pit-tanning selected bovine hides using oak/mimosa barks and vegetable tannins to maintain the natural splendor of each hide. Keeping the resulting leather completely undyed, the tannery then washes and oils it to accentuate the beautiful natural tone. This could be the finest and most patina-ready leather we’ve ever seen.
When DR and Viberg team up it’s always special, but this rendition of the 2030 Chelsea is beyond that. Especially when you think how that natural leather will look like after years of wear. In other words, they’ve set ’em up, it’s time for you to knock ’em down.
Available exclusively at Division Road for $945.
