Oldblue Co. 19oz. Indonesia Selvedge (4 Years, Unknown Washes & Soaks)

They’re old. They’re blue. And they’re this week’s Fade Friday — a resilient pair of Oldblue Co. 19oz. Selvedge Denim from Anggi Kusumawardani.
In their four years, these jeans have been through a lot, from motorbiking and walking, to working and field surveying. All of these activities have carved their way into this striking pair of jeans. Although being worn hard, these jeans are yet to be repaired, a testament to the craftsmanship of Oldblue Co.
It’s rare to see a pair of raws where the faded regions outnumber the indigo-concentrated regions but this pair does the trick. It would seem that the countless number of washes and soaks have allowed the initially deep indigo to a steely blue tone reminiscent of the gold-rush era denim that inspires the folks over at Oldblue Co.

Taken straight from a 1930s department store catalog is the Jonas Bros. 1930s Half-Belt Jacket by Bill Kelso. At this point, you’ve probably seen your fair share of heritage leather jackets out there from asymmetrical motorcycle jackets to military bombers. However, the mad leather scientists over at Kelso are schooling us on a lesser-seen class of leather jackets from the golden age of outerwear, the casual variety, of which there were an infinite number of designs.
Modeled after an original example from Jonas Bros. out of Seattle, Washington, Kelso has faithfully recreated the striking design from scratch, leaving no detail to chance. From the 4 button closure and bi-swing back to its half-belt with adjustable cinches and slant pocket setup, this quintessentially 30s time capsule is indisputably unique but somehow familiar and classic, to the point where you could pull it off whether you were gearing up for a full depression-era look or keeping it tastefully modern.
Coming in a ton of different leather options, order yours today, enjoy it for life, and hand it down to your children. Or get buried in it. The choice is yours.
Available from $1192 at Bill Kelso MFG.
Building a niche in the heritage jewelry market is Munqa and their “newtive” creations. Blending Native and new together into exciting takes on old-school pieces, whether you are going for a traditional Western look or are keen on bringing a bit of flair to your modern-day aesthetic, this Japanese brand from the mind of artist, Muu, has you covered — often incorporating pop culture into their inventive designs. And with their new Jimi Turquoise Broach, you’d have to be in a debilitating purple haze to not see the craftsmanship that goes into this piece honoring the rock ‘n roll legend.
Made from .925 sterling silver and featuring a secure pin back, this hand-made piece features turquoise accents and incredible hand-stamped and carved detailing. Perfect for hanging along the watch tower or performing the Star-Spangled Banner in upstate New York, don’t get caught left-hand. Grab a broach, pin it to your favorite shirt or jacket, and feel the star-power.
Available for $260 from Clutch Cafe.
