Fade Friday – Carnivores Soul Golden Claw 15oz. (2 Years, 2 Months, 4 Washes, 10 Soaks)

Dzaky must get stopped on the street all the time. No, he’s not a celebrity. But, his jeans have the radiance of Fade Friday glory that would naturally have countless strangers stopping him to say, “Sick fades, bro.” Worn for over 2 years with a handful of washes and soaks, his pair of CarnivoresSoul Golden Claw 15oz. jeans have climbed to a level of fades that made these Carnivores top of the food chain this Fade Friday.
Obviously, not much of the indigo has stuck around, and it’s a surprise that the top block has managed to stay this dark. The whiskers are still visible, though they’re worn down so much that they’re gradually disappearing with every wear. The honeycombs are razor sharp, whipping back and forth, up and down. It’s all a result of living in a hot and humid Indonesia, cycling, and traveling often.

Have you ever seen a shell cordovan Chelsea boot? I hadn’t until I was put onto this pair of Meermin 116080, and without sounding like a millennial TikTok star, I’m obsessed.
See, aside from being an ever-versatile Chelsea boot, what makes these extra special is how the silhouette’s lack of laces and upper panels interacts with the special equine leather. See, the ‘Shells’ of Cordovan are notoriously small and expensive, so they have to be clicked with extra care, and considering there is only minimal paneling on the upper, there is probably almost half a shell in each individual shoe. The plain upper lets the lustrous Heritage Brown shell cordovan sing, providing the perfect canvas for a patina project that will keep on giving.
This formulation of cordovan is sourced from an undisclosed tannery and made exclusively for Meermin, making these an even rarer proposition at what can be considered a radically affordable price. Each pair is built on a rugged lugged sole for traction and comfort, with Goodyear welted construction to facilitate easy resoling, keeping them on your feet for as long as possible.
Available at Meermin for $395.

The outdoor gear industry is as saturated as ever. Cool designs alone won’t get you there. Quality craftsmanship alone doesn’t automatically move the needle. And we all know going all-in on novelty fabric for the sake of novelty is well…phony.
That’s why Owner Operator is such a breath of fresh mountain air. Started by two friends trying to stay connected with their love of snowboarding, Owner Operator has built a small but mighty NYC textile operation with their own 4 hands dedicated to producing the highest quality outdoor clothing and accessories possible.
And with the return of their 111 Parka in Sand, Terracotta, and Slate Blue, they are making a powdery splash. Featured in Japanese-milled 60/40, one of the defining textiles of the early outdoors boom, the parka manages to stay lightweight, soft to the touch, and breathable, all while keeping wet weather at bay.
Thanks to a design inspired by original mid-century examples idolized by gear fiends, it’s nice to know this 4-pocket stunner is as trend-proof as its fabrication is weather-proof. Closed out with a snap & zip up front closure, velcro cuffs, and adjustable toggles at the waist, hem, and hood, this jacket is not just window dressing. It’s the real deal, built to be worn and loved unconditionally.
Available for $595 from Owner Operator.
The perfect gift for the special person in your life — or just for you, you’re special too after all. The Roundel bracelet from Mikia pairs naturally silver hematite with eye-catching jet turquoise to create an ideal piece of wrist decoration.
Mikia, which was founded in Tokyo in 1998, is known for its use of natural and precious stones and vintage beads in its full range of jewelry. Their head designer, Aki Mitsubayashi, is inspired by her travels around the world, and the people and cultures she meets along the way. This gives every Mikia piece its own unique identity, and the Roundel bracelet is no different — the combination of turquoise and silver creates a beautiful contrast, which is complemented by the hand-stamped sterling silver clasp and silk cord that holds it all together.
Handmade in Japan, the natural stones give the Roundel bags of character. An incredible piece of jewelry at a very affordable price.
Available for $180 from Redcast Heritage.
