The Strike Gold SG1101 (3 Years, 4 Washes, 1 Soak)

This Fade Friday is pure gold–The Strike Gold, that is! Denim fan Randy Saputra of Indonesia has put in serious work on these SG1101s, clocking in at three years and four months of wear time, and he still keeps them in rotation to this day.

Heavy, dirty fades are the name of the game here, and we’re all about it. Looking like they were pulled off a turn-of-the-century farm, these jeans have been around the block and back a few times, and now don some really awesome wear marks. Those include heavy whiskering and seat fades, paired with picture-perfect honeycombs with a surprising amount of contrasting darker indigo still intact.

Randy mostly wore these jeans back in his days on campus, but still throws them on for weekend hangouts, allowing him to reminisce about their long journey together.

This model is discontinued but you can shop shop The Strike Gold at Redcast Heritage.

Throw out the old adage of “pick two:  good, cheap, and fast” because Gustin just proved they can deliver all three. You may be familiar with Gustin and their crowdfunding model. By pre-funding their production, they can offer a wide range of made in USA denim, shirts, footwear, and accessories at phenomenal prices, the caveat being that you will have to wait a month or two to get your hands (or legs) on them. Until now.

Gustin just quietly launched a few of their best-selling items as “in stock and ready to ship” and you can have them at your door in less than a week. This includes their 1968 jeans made of the legendary Cone Mills White Oak denim of the same name, The 1968 features the 4-season 13.5oz. indigo fabric with Cone’s signature red selvedge id (see how it fades in our past Fade Fridays of this exact pair).

Cone isn’t making any more of it, and at $109 this is definitely the last best deal you’re ever going to find on a pair of White Oak jeans, not to mention that they’re also made in California and offered in all sizes of Gustin’s Straight, Slim, and Skinny fits.

So don’t wait, because you don’t have to any more, and pick up a pair for $109 at Gustin.
