We sell a lot of our Teamster Tees, so when we considered a new knitwear brand in the shop, it has to be something pretty special.
Cal Cru is very special.
It's a small, family-owned knit and sew operation based in Granite Quarry, North Carolina. Everything is grown and sourced within 100 miles of their home.

From Mike Jones, the second-generation owner/operator:
My Mom and Dad started the company in 1968. We were a contractor of knit underwear for my dad's former employer. They did that for several years and then branched out into doing our garments which were in high demand with my generation.
At the time, the most popular style was the Stedman Hi-Cru label. It was a true outerwear sized t-shirt with a wider collar that set higher on the neck. So my dad's and his salesman's idea to emulate the Stedman success was to start a new brand called Cal Cru which was short for California crew.
Everything we produce for the Cal Cru brand is sourced in the Carolinas. Indeed, the American grown cotton is spun into yarn, knit, dyed and finished within 100 miles of our plant here in Granite Quarry.
